In preparation for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) needed to procure a range of different buildings to house the staff responsible for the construction phase of the Olympic Park.

 

Solution:

Within just eight weeks, Portakabin delivered a three-storey executive workspace, providing 3,577m² of floor area per storey, on time and on budget. The building was equipped with security systems, a lift, access ramps and steps, climate-control and IT equipment. In keeping with the ODA's environmental commitments, Portakabin installed dual-flush toilets and waterless air flush urinals to minimise water use. Energy-conserving solar sheeting was fitted to the building's windows and motion sensors were fitted to the lighting system to reduce the amount of energy consumed.
