Emergency Lighting
Ensure safe escape in an emergency
Professionally installed and maintained emergency lighting systems from Portakabin Protecta can significantly reduce the chances of injury or loss of life in the event of a mains power failure or fire.
All systems are designed to complement the layout of your building. Systems can be installed as a stand-alone addition to your building or as part of a Portakabin Protecta fire-detection system.
Our systems cover the four emergency lighting elements outlined by British Standards:
Escape route lighting
On routes forming the means of escape from any point in the building to the final exit.
Open area or anti-panic lighting
Providing illumination to allow occupants to reach a place where an escape route can be accessed.
Points of emphasis
To highlight elements of a fire alarm system, such as the control panel, call points or fire-fighting equipment.
High-risk area lighting
For the safety of personnel involved in potentially dangerous processes, allowing shutdown procedures to be completed.
All of our emergency lights include a battery back-up, providing up to three hours of operation without mains power. Test key switches are also included so that you can check the operation of emergency lighting circuits.
